Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are
AskGod ("we", "us", "our") is a service operated by Masala Holdings (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa, trading as AskGod and accessible at askgod.co.za. By creating an account or otherwise using AskGod, you ("you", "user") enter into a binding agreement with Masala Holdings (Pty) Ltd on the terms below.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or continuing to use AskGod, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Notice. If you are using AskGod on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
3. The service
AskGod is a digital tool that offers AI-assisted personal reflection prompts and practical guidance. Outputs are generated by language models and are intended for general personal reflection only. They are not direct messages from God and are not a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, legal, financial or spiritual advice.
4. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use AskGod. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity on your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
5. Acceptable use
You must not, and must not attempt to:
- use AskGod for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose;
- submit content that infringes another person's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- interfere with the security or integrity of the service, including by introducing malware, scraping, probing or circumventing technical limits;
- use the service to generate content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that promotes self-harm or violence;
- resell, sublicense, redistribute or reverse-engineer any part of the service.
6. Intellectual property
The AskGod service, including its software, design, branding and content we provide (other than your own inputs), is owned by Masala Holdings (Pty) Ltd or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service in accordance with these Terms.
You retain ownership of the questions and journal entries you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, store and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.
7. Subscriptions, billing & Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, taxes, currency conversion, subscription renewal, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms, which you accept at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your profile or via paddle.net.
8. Refund policy
30-day money-back guarantee. AskGod offers a full refund on every new subscription if requested within 30 days of your initial purchase, no hard questions asked.
Renewals. Subscription renewals (monthly or annual) are also eligible for refund within 30 days of the renewal charge, provided you haven't used the service significantly during that renewal period. We review these requests in good faith and on a case-by-case basis.
You can cancel auto-renewal at any time from your Profile or via the Paddle customer portal. Cancellation stops future charges; you keep access until the end of your current billing period.
How to request a refund. Visit paddle.net and look up your order using the email address you used at checkout, then open the relevant order and choose Request a refund. Or email us at support@askgod.co.za and we will help you initiate the refund with Paddle. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days.
Exceptions. We may decline refund requests in cases of suspected fraud, abuse of the refund policy (e.g. repeated subscribe-and-refund cycles), or breach of these Terms. Where required by law, your statutory rights as a consumer remain unaffected. Paddle's full refund policy is available at paddle.com/legal/refund-policy.
9. AI outputs & accuracy
Reflections and guidance produced by AskGod are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your specific situation. You are responsible for how you use the outputs and for verifying any information before relying on it. Do not use AskGod for emergencies; if you are in crisis, contact a qualified professional or local emergency services.
10. Service availability
We work hard to keep AskGod available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time, including for maintenance or to comply with law.
11. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to AskGod, with or without notice, if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay, present a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly violate our policies. You may stop using AskGod at any time by closing your account from the Profile screen. On termination, your right to use the service ends and we may delete your data after a reasonable export window.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AskGod is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to AskGod is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or anticipated savings. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence).
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Masala Holdings (Pty) Ltd harmless from any claims, damages or expenses arising from your content, your use of the service in breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will give reasonable notice (for example by email or in-app). Your continued use of AskGod after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The courts of South Africa have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the service, subject to any non-waivable consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
